At DAU we focus on performance-based training to help the Defense Acquisition Workforce and their organizations achieve the right acquisition outcomes.

To be effective, our faculty must have a background of successful service in acquisition positions PLUS the ability to communicate their knowledge in the classroom, online, and in the workplace during consulting efforts.   We hire expert practitioners who can draw upon real world experience to relate to students in the classroom and develop training products that are directly applicable to current challenges they face.

Many of our faculty are drawn to DAU following high-impact careers in the military, industry, and the civil service because they are seeking an opportunity to share their experiences to truly “make a difference” in the lives of the members of the Defense Acquisition Workforce and to support the vitally important mission of the Department of Defense.  Our excepted service faculty personnel plan has enabled DAU to create a world-class, award-winning training team of exceptionally qualified faculty from diverse backgrounds who work hard to be the best while enjoying an outstanding quality of life.

The first step in joining our DAU team is to understand our functional areas and respond to one of our current hiring opportunities.  Thank you for your interest in the Defense Acquisition University.
